Dove Cottage Hospice and LOROS Hospice have today announced that they have agreed to end their formal alliance and return to operating as fully independent charities.
The collaborative relationship, which developed following the retirement of former Dove Cottage CEO Chris Gatfield in 2023, will evolve into a close and supportive partnership between the two organisations.
A statement from Dove Cottage Day Hospice Chair – Jack Adlam and LOROS Hospice Chair – Andrew Stant said:
"Dove Cottage and LOROS have always maintained their own boards of trustees and continued to make independent decisions in the best interests of the communities they serve.
This change will enable both charities to build on their strengths, respond more effectively to local needs and continue developing services and models of care that reflect the priorities of their respective communities.
We remain committed to working together where it benefits patients, families and supporters, and we look forward to continuing our positive relationship."
Patients, families, supporters and volunteers will see no change to the care and support they receive. Both hospices will continue to provide high-quality, compassionate care in the welcoming and supportive environments for which they are known.
